A case of sexual assault involving a minor has been reported in the Masturi area of Bilaspur district, Chhattisgarh. A 13-year-old girl was the victim of the assault. She had left her home in the late evening for sanitation when the incident occurred. The accused, Raju Markam, a young man from the village, committed the crime.
Reports indicate that Markam attacked the girl while she was alone. After committing the crime, Markam fled the scene.
The girl’s family reported the incident to the police, resulting in the arrest of the accused. The accused admitted to the crime during interrogation. The police have registered a case under rape and the POCSO Act and have begun judicial proceedings.
