The Raipur police have made arrests in the sensational suitcase murder case in the DD Nagar area. The investigation, led by SSP Lal Umed Singh, has revealed that a lawyer, Ankit Upadhyay, and his wife, Shivani Sharma, were the masterminds behind the crime. The couple committed the murder in a rented house in Indraprastha Colony, later disposing of the body in a suitcase in a remote location with the aid of two other individuals. The victim, Kishor Paikra, had given Rs 30 lakh to Ankit, which he utilized for personal use. When Paikra repeatedly asked for his money back, Ankit and his wife plotted his murder, concealing the body in a suitcase and covering it with cement to hide any evidence. The couple fled the scene but were caught at Delhi airport. The police, along with forensic scientists and fingerprint experts, collected evidence from the crime scene. An Alto car, two two-wheelers, and five mobile phones were seized. The accused have been charged and sent to judicial custody.
