Raigarh district has revealed substantial discrepancies during the verification of ration cards. Approximately 79,000 beneficiaries have ration cards but lack Aadhaar seeding. These individuals have been receiving their ration allocations regularly.
The district is home to 310,000 ration cardholders, with a total of 1,057,540 beneficiaries who receive their rations each month. Following state government instructions to verify ration cards, it was found that around 79,247 beneficiaries had not linked their Aadhaar information to their ration cards. Despite the absence of thumb or iris verification, the head of the household has been receiving their portion of rations monthly. The Aadhaar seeding process has been in place for the past 18 months, but the integration is incomplete, which raises the suspicion that these beneficiaries may be fraudulent.
