Ahead of Independence Day, Raigarh district witnessed a significant boost in infrastructure and public services with the inauguration and groundbreaking of projects worth ₹62.36 crore, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai.
The development initiatives included the completion of 45 projects, with an investment of ₹42.99 crore, and the commencement of 70 new projects, totaling ₹19.36 crore. This comprehensive development plan aims to uplift the district’s infrastructure and services.
Key infrastructure projects were inaugurated, including bridges and water supply schemes. A bridge over the Bhengari Nala on the Dharamjaigarh-Aedukala road was completed for ₹5.25 crore, while another bridge was built over the Kharun River on the Pakargaon road in Lailunga, costing ₹6.39 crore. In addition, a single-village piped water supply scheme was launched across Kharsia, Lailunga, and Dharamjaigarh, at a cost of ₹28.53 crore, to improve access to clean water.
The inaugurations also featured crucial public health facilities. Primary health centers in Bahirkela, Dharamjaigarh, and Lamdand, Lailunga, each costing ₹75 lakh, were opened to serve local communities. The construction of a community building in Konpara, Ghargoda, was completed at a cost of ₹7 lakh. The CSPDCL 33/11 kV, 3.15 MVA work at the Khadgaon sub-center in Dharamjaigarh was also inaugurated with an investment of ₹1.25 crore.
New projects also took root with the laying of foundations for Po.Mai. Tribal Boys’ Hostel buildings at seven locations in the district including Dhaurabhatha, Tamnar, Lailunga, Ghatgaon, Gharghoda, Bakaruma, and Dharamjaigarh, representing an investment of ₹13.28 crore.
Furthermore, the initiative included the laying of foundations for a watchtower, costing ₹20.33 lakh, and a patrolling camp, costing ₹10.88 lakh. Moreover, ground was broken on various projects such as culverts, CC roads, footways, community buildings, and the repair of existing health centers, totaling ₹2.54 crore and ₹3.22 crore respectively. This marks a holistic approach to advancing the district’s infrastructure and public services.
