A cheating incident at the PWD sub-engineer exam in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, has highlighted the use of advanced technology in exam fraud. A student was caught with a spy camera hidden in her innerwear, communicating with an accomplice outside the exam hall via a walkie-talkie.
The incident occurred during the sub-engineer recruitment exam at Ramdulare Government Swami Atmanand School in Sarkanda, Bilaspur on Sunday. Annu Surya, the examinee, was using a spy camera and an earpiece to receive answers from Anuradha, who was in an auto-rickshaw. Anuradha was using a tablet and walkie-talkie for communication.
The auto driver’s suspicion prompted the authorities to intervene. Examination officials confiscated a spy camera, earphones, tablets, and a walkie-talkie. The police have taken both individuals into custody and are investigating the matter. The students involved are from Jashpur, the home district of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.
Student leaders are demanding the registration of an FIR against the two women and the cancellation of the exam, citing widespread cheating and calling for a thorough investigation.
