A total of ₹152.84 crore will be distributed to 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh through the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). The payment will be credited directly to the bank accounts of the farmers enrolled in the scheme. This financial aid is for the Kharif 2024 and Rabi 2024-25 seasons, with ₹10.25 crore earmarked for 33,943 eligible farmers from the Kharif season and ₹142.58 crore allocated to 107,936 eligible farmers from the Rabi season.
The distribution will take place on Monday, August 11, via a nationwide direct benefit transfer (DBT) automated system. The central event will be held in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and will be presided over by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, will be the chief guest. The event will also be attended by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Chaudhary, and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Keshari Lal Meena, as special guests.
Farmers from Chhattisgarh who are covered under the insurance scheme will be able to participate in the program virtually. The program will begin at 12 noon. Agricultural offices at the district and block levels have set up the necessary arrangements to encourage maximum participation from the beneficiary farmers.
