The 20th installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme has been successfully disbursed, providing financial relief to farmers across India, including over 25.47 lakh farmers in Chhattisgarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the release of funds through a video conference, ensuring that approximately 9.26 crore eligible farmers across the country received a total of Rs 18,000 crore directly into their bank accounts. This significant milestone for Chhattisgarh’s farmers brought a total of Rs 553.34 crore to their accounts. Since its inception in February 2019, the state’s farmers have received a cumulative sum of Rs 9765.26 crore under this scheme.
A state-level farmers’ convention was held in Raipur at the Mahatma Gandhi Horticulture and Forestry University auditorium to mark this occasion. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai was the chief guest, joined by Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Tokhan Sao, Chhattisgarh’s Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, and other prominent figures from the government and agriculture sector.

He stressed the scheme’s historical significance in achieving this goal and reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting farmers through various initiatives.
Union Minister of State Tokhan Sao expressed satisfaction with the wide-ranging benefits Chhattisgarh farmers are experiencing through central government schemes. He highlighted the significant impact of the PM-Kisan scheme, stating that over Rs 3 lakh crore has been disbursed to farmers across the country to date.
Farmers who have benefited from the scheme shared their experiences on stage, showcasing the positive impact it has had on their agricultural practices. The convention also brought together agricultural scientists, officials, and representatives from cooperative societies to discuss and engage in a dialogue about the future of agriculture in Chhattisgarh.
The PM-Kisan scheme provides direct financial support to eligible farmer families by offering Rs 2,000 every four months, amounting to Rs 6,000 annually. This financial support is delivered directly to farmers’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism.
