The Chhattisgarh government, recognizing the need for permanent peace and inclusive development in Naxal-affected areas, is implementing a policy of rehabilitation, security, and respect. The special project under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, initiated for surrendered Naxals and families affected by violence, is a historic step toward social justice and human dignity. The goal of the government is to ensure that every affected family receives both shelter and respect. This mission is being pursued with full commitment.
Currently, approximately three thousand houses have been approved under the special project for surrendered Naxals and Naxal-affected families. Sukma district has the most, with 984 families. Other districts benefiting from the scheme are Bijapur (761 families), Narayanpur (376), Dantewada (251), Bastar (214), Kondagaon (166), Kanker (146), Gariaband (27), Balrampur-Ramanujganj (25), and Manpur-Mohla-Ambagarh Chowki (23). Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma, stated that the government is working to build a better future for the affected families.
