A shocking incident of online fraud has come to light where Angnesh Minj, the headmistress of the Jamjunnawani Primary School, was cheated out of ₹2.65 lakhs. She was tricked into transferring money to a fraudulent account over two days. The perpetrators contacted her from an unknown number, inquiring about her use of PhonePe. They then asked about her account balance, which she stated was around ₹3 lakhs. The fraudsters enticed her with a proposition to return ₹3.18 lakhs in exchange for ₹3 lakhs. Following their instructions, the principal transferred a total of ₹2.65 lakhs from her personal and PhonePe accounts. The realization of the scam came when the promised money wasn’t received. A formal complaint has been lodged at the Pathalgaon police station, and the police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
