A major accident involving a passenger bus traveling from Raipur to Jagdalpur occurred early Monday morning near Jagdalpur. The bus, belonging to Manish Travels, collided with a truck near the Majisa petrol pump within the Bastar police station area. The crash resulted in the deaths of the bus driver and a female helper, while several other passengers were injured. It is suspected that the driver may have dozed off, contributing to the accident. Police from Bastar police station responded immediately, initiating a rescue operation. There were approximately 30 passengers on board the bus at the time of the collision. While all the passengers survived, the bus driver, Satyendra Singh, aged 35 from Durg, and the helper, Pushpa, aged 20 from Bijapur, did not survive. The front of the bus was extensively damaged. The driver was extracted using cutters, but sadly, both the driver and the helper succumbed to their injuries.
