A married man’s late-night visit to his married girlfriend in Chhattisgarh’s Surguja district resulted in a sequence of dramatic events, including a physical altercation and an unexpected verdict from a village panchayat.
The incident occurred in the Lakhanpur police station area. The man, identified as Shubham Rajwade, hailing from Telaikachhar village, was caught with his girlfriend in Puhputra, where she resides post-marriage. Her family members apprehended them, tied them up, and subjected them to physical violence. Following this, a panchayat was called, which issued a surprising order.
It has been revealed that Shubham had gone to meet his girlfriend on Monday night. Her husband was not present, but other family members were there and discovered the rendezvous. The couple was caught in the act and restrained. Before the panchayat meeting, they endured a beating. The police were also notified.
The panchayat was convened to address the situation. It was disclosed that the two individuals had a romantic relationship prior to their respective marriages. Despite their inability to marry each other, they continued to communicate and meet occasionally. The panchayat decided to entrust the woman to her lover’s care, and she departed with him. The police confirmed that no formal complaint was filed by either party, resulting in the absence of an FIR.
