A three‑city analysis released by CSPDCL on 27 July 2026 shows a notable decline in electricity consumption during July for households fitted with smart meters in Raipur, Bilaspur and Durg.

The data, covering the period 1‑26 May, June and July, indicates that July’s usage fell sharply compared with the two preceding months. In Raipur, total draw fell from 108.5 million units in June to 77.7 million units in July – a 28% cut. For the 121,135 consumers who normally exceed 400 units per month, the drop was even steeper at about 44%.

Durg recorded a 53% reduction, with high‑usage customers consuming 76,257 units in July versus 165,411 units in June. Bilaspur’s similar cohort saw a 43% fall, dropping to an average of 312 units in July from 524 units in May.
