In a tragic event, an ASP, Akash Rao Giripunje, was killed in an IED blast in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The explosion also injured multiple police officers near the village of Dondra. The incident took place while the police were patrolling in response to a bandh call. The injured were transported to Konta Hospital. ASP Giripunje was on patrol duty to prevent any untoward incidents. Deputy CM Vijay Shamra expressed sorrow. The incident highlights the challenges of dealing with Naxalite violence and the need for ongoing anti-Naxal operations.
