Raipur, The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, are organizing the “Healthy Women, Empowered Family Campaign” from September 17 to October 2. Along with this, the National Nutrition Month 2025 will also be organized from September 17 to October 16 across the country. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will launch this campaign and Nutrition Month nationwide from Indore, Madhya Pradesh on September 17.
In Chhattisgarh, the state-level program will be organized at the Agriculture College Auditorium in the capital Raipur, in which Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai will be the chief guest and Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smt. Annapurna Devi will preside over the program.
Under the campaign, more than 7,500 health camps will be organized across the state. In these camps, initial check-up and treatment of diseases like high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, tuberculosis, leprosy of women and children will be done. There will also be antenatal check-ups for pregnant women, distribution of mother and child safety cards, vaccination of children and awareness programs related to nutrition and menstrual hygiene for adolescent girls.
Under the National Nutrition Month, special activities like nutrition panchayats, community participation at Anganwadi centers and panchayat level, health check-ups, nutrition counseling and mother-child health camps will be organized. Special registration of eligible women will be done and the benefits of the Prime Minister’s Matru Vandana Yojana will be provided. Along with this, women and families will be encouraged to adopt millets and local nutritious foods like kodo, kutki, ragi. Active participation of men and youth will be ensured in the upbringing of children.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said that a healthy woman is the real foundation of an empowered family and an empowered society. The national campaign that is starting under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji regarding women and child health, will give new strength to every home and every society. In Chhattisgarh, we will make this campaign and National Nutrition Month a successful mass movement with the collective efforts and social cooperation of all of us. This message will reach every village and every city with the active participation of panchayat representatives, urban bodies, women’s organizations, voluntary organizations, youth and social organizations.
Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that through the Healthy Women, Empowered Family Campaign and National Nutrition Month, arrangements have been made for comprehensive check-up and treatment of the health of women and children. The organization of more than 7,500 health camps across the state is proof that the Chhattisgarh government is giving top priority to women and child health. This campaign will not only reduce maternal and infant mortality rates but will also increase awareness about nutrition and health among adolescents and families.
Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Lakshmi Rajwade said that women and child health and nutrition are the foundation of an empowered family and an empowered nation. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, ‘Healthy Women, Empowered Family Campaign’ and National Nutrition Month are communicating a new public consciousness across the country. In Chhattisgarh, this campaign will take the form of a successful mass movement with the guidance of Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai and the participation of the society. Our priority is that quality health and nutrition services reach every mother and every child, so that the coming generation can become healthy and capable.
It is noteworthy that during the campaign, tree plantation will be linked to maternal respect and environmental protection under the special program “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”. In addition, blood donation camps, Nikshay Mitra enrollment and services of mobile medical units in remote areas will also be included. Cancer screening, ANC check-ups, adolescent health sessions, nutrition counseling and immunization drives will be organized at the district and block levels.
