Raipur October 15, 2025/Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, excellent work has been done in the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in Chhattisgarh. Last January 2025, Chhattisgarh was at the bottom of the country in the implementation of this scheme, but after continuous monitoring by Chief Minister Shri Sai, in the last nine months, Chhattisgarh has come to the first position in the country in the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Chhattisgarh has been honored with the award for best performing state in the National Health Authority Conclave held in Bhopal.
This honor is a testament to the state’s tireless efforts and exemplary work style in the health sector. The main reasons for conferring the award were the successful organization of in-depth field audits on all identified issues. The turnaround time in the Ayushman Yojana’s claim process has been significantly reduced, providing prompt services to beneficiaries. Detailed sensitization and awareness programs were conducted for all relevant stakeholders, making them aware. An effective communication system was established with NHA’s empanelled healthcare providers to improve coordination. This effort by the Chhattisgarh government has proven to be a milestone in providing quality and accessible healthcare services to the citizens of the state. Chief Minister Shri Sai congratulated all the officers and health workers of the health department for this achievement of Chhattisgarh.
It is noteworthy that Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana is a health insurance scheme of the Government of India, which provides cashless health insurance cover of up to ₹5 lakh per year to economically weaker families. This scheme is for secondary and tertiary care in public and private hospitals and aims to reduce the burden of healthcare expenses on families.
