Consumers in Chhattisgarh are bracing for higher electricity bills as the state government’s subsidy program concludes. The electricity bill half-price scheme, which offered a 50% discount on electricity consumption up to 400 units per month, ended on August 1st. This initiative, which began on March 1, 2019, provided substantial savings for households. The impact of this change will be visible in the September electricity bills, with consumers facing increased charges. Previously, consumers benefited from reduced bills, often saving between 558 and 1223 rupees monthly. Now, consumers will need to adjust to the higher costs.
