The Trimurti Ganesh Utsav Samiti in Rajnandgaon is utilizing the Ganesh festival to convey a powerful social message. This year, the focus is on combating child labor and emphasizing the value of education.
In Shankarpur, Ward Number 7, the Ganesh Pandal showcases Lord Ganesha with a book, surrounded by children. The theme is centered around the detrimental impact of child labor and the transformative power of education. The pandal’s displays are designed to highlight the path to a brighter future through education. A unique visual element presents two perspectives of the same idol, illustrating life with and without education. Hindi and English alphabets are also integrated into the design. The Ganesh Utsav Samiti uses flex banners to actively campaign against child labor and encourage the education of children.
Previously, the pandal promoted environmental awareness, using religious frameworks to address deforestation. This year’s focus on child labor reflects the growing concerns about the lack of educational opportunities for children. Lord Ganesha, the embodiment of wisdom and knowledge, is the central figure delivering this message.
The Trimurti Ganesh Utsav Samiti has been conducting these Ganesh idol installations for approximately 30 years. The team behind the effort largely consists of young individuals who aim to highlight messages of social welfare through their themed installations. Committee President Ravi Jagne emphasizes the effectiveness of combining faith with social messages to inspire positive change. This is why the committee consistently installs idols that convey important messages.
