Raipur, June 19, 2025/ Under the “One Nation One Ration Card” scheme of the Government of India, Aadhaar authentication-based food grain distribution is being ensured in the state of Chhattisgarh. To smoothly implement this process, it is mandatory to complete the e-KYC (e-KYC) of the family members of all ration card holders associated with the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Currently, 81.56 lakh ration cards are in circulation in Chhattisgarh, in which 2.73 crore members are registered. Out of these, e-KYC of 2.35 crore members has been completed, while e-KYC of about 38 lakh members is pending. The Government of India has exempted children under 5 years of age from e-KYC.
Food Secretary Smt. Reena Kangale informed that the facility of e-KYC is available through e-POS machines in all fair price shops of the state. Along with this, beneficiaries can also do e-KYC themselves from their smartphones while sitting at home through the “Mera e-KYC” mobile application developed by the Government of India. To do e-KYC through the Mera e-KYC app, beneficiaries can download the app from the Google Play Store on their Android mobile, select the state, enter their Aadhaar number, and do face e-KYC through Aadhaar OTP. She has appealed to all ration card holders to mandatorily complete their and all family members’ e-KYC before the last date of June 30, 2025, so that there is no inconvenience in the distribution of food grains.
