CM Announces Progress in Naxal‑Free Chhattisgarh on 80th Independence Day
On August 15, the Chief Minister delivered a comprehensive progress report for a Naxal‑free Chhattisgarh. He opened with a salute to Mother India and a gratitude to the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for independence.
Emphasising the transformation from a conflict‑ridden region to a development hub, he cited the successful conclusion of the Naxal‑free India pledge under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Bastar, the former hot‑bed of Maoist activity, is now witnessing a wave of development. The state has achieved 100 % saturation of 31 schemes and 14 community projects, reaching over 3.9 million residents.
Education has been a priority: schools that were shut down due to violence have reopened, and 36 additional schools have received approval. In remote blocks such as Orcha and Jagargunda, “Education Cities” are under construction to provide modern learning facilities.
Health outreach through the “Swachh Basti Health Mission” has conducted medical screenings for more than 3.4 million people, creating detailed health profiles for each household.
Agriculture initiatives include a price guarantee of ₹3,100 per quintal for rice, subsidies for diversified crops, and a ₹48.24 crore “Livelihood Upliftment Plan” targeting 1 million families whose monthly income is below ₹15,000.
Infrastructure improvements involve solar electrification of 461 villages, road connectivity for 234 interior habitations, and the launch of a “Rural Bus Service” that now serves 814 villages across Bastar and Surguja.
The minister also highlighted digital reforms: 2,028 panchayats have been computerised, 1,988 of them operating as Common Service Centres, and an “Atal Panchayat Digital Facility” has been installed in over 7,500 gram panchayats.
In conclusion, the CM called upon the people to cherish the nation’s unity, reaffirming the slogan “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” as the guiding principle for the next phase of Chhattisgarh’s growth.
