Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj has a glorious past, social institutions have an important role in making Chhattisgarh a developed state – Chief Minister Shri Sai
Raipur, June 1, 2025/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj has had a glorious past. In the society, there were illustrious rulers like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while there were great personalities like Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who played an important role in the integration of the native princely states. He said that the Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj of Chhattisgarh is not only a symbol of hard work and self-respect, but this society is also the foundation pillar of the development of Chhattisgarh. This society has an important contribution in making Chhattisgarh a new direction and a developed state. Chief Minister Shri Sai was addressing as the chief guest at the Central Convention program of Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj organized in village Kolihapuri of Durg district today. Revenue Minister Shri Tankram Verma and MLAs Shri Ajay Chandrakar, Shri Gajendra Yadav and Shri Lalit Chandrakar attended the program as special guests.
Chief Minister Shri Sai further said that most of the people of Chandranahu Kurmi Kshatriya Samaj in Chhattisgarh are basically farmers and are engaged in agricultural work on a large scale. The state government always wants to see happiness on the faces of the farmer brothers. The government is continuously working for the betterment of the farmer brothers. At present, ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ is going on in the entire country including Chhattisgarh from May 29 to June 12, 2025. The main objective of this campaign is to directly connect scientists with farmers and provide information about new agricultural techniques, government schemes and successful agricultural models. 100 groups of agricultural scientists are interacting with farmers in different areas of Chhattisgarh. These scientists are making farmers aware about organic farming, fertilizers and the correct use of ‘Soil Health Card’. The Chief Minister said that the government’s goal is that every farmer of Chhattisgarh should be technically capable and their income should increase.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that farming will be strong in the state only when the farmer brothers get the right price for their produce. The successful Prime Minister of the country, Shri Narendra Modi ji, had guaranteed during the assembly elections that the farmers would be given the outstanding bonus of two years after the government was formed in the state. Fulfilling this, we transferred the amount to the accounts of the farmers as soon as the government was formed. In line with Modi ji’s guarantee, paddy is being purchased from farmers in Chhattisgarh at the rate of Rs 3,100 per quintal at the rate of 21 quintals per acre. In the last Kharif season, a new record of purchasing more than 149 lakh metric tons of paddy has been created in the state. The Chief Minister said that the farmers are getting the full price for their produce. New records are being made in paddy procurement, due to which the interest of farmers towards farming is increasing in the state. Along with promoting irrigation resources in the state, animal husbandry and fisheries are also being given priority. To increase milk production, two milch animals will be given to poor families, the responsibility of whose care has been entrusted to the National Dairy Development Board. Arrangements have also been made for collecting milk so that farmers do not face any problem in selling milk. The Chief Minister said that a processing plant is being set up in Dantewada district to promote the cultivation of millets (kodo, kutki and ragi). This grain was earlier considered the food of the poor, but now it is becoming popular in the upper class also due to being nutritious.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that we have formulated a new industrial policy, in which many provisions have been made for setting up industries as per the needs of the state. Our government’s resolve is – Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas. With this spirit, we are making schemes for every section of the society and converting them into action. The Chief Minister said that many schemes have been implemented in Chhattisgarh for the welfare of farmers, women, the elderly and all sections of the society. Under the Mahtari Vandana Yojana, financial assistance of Rs 1,000 per month is being provided to more than 70 lakh women. Due to this, women are becoming self-reliant and are increasing their income through activities like sewing, embroidery, vegetable production. The Chief Minister’s pilgrimage scheme has been started once again.
