A family in Korba, Chhattisgarh, is mourning the loss of two members after a chicken party turned fatal. After eating the meal, the family suffered from symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea. The mother-in-law and her son-in-law died during medical treatment. Three others are in a critical state. The event happened in Korkoma village, under the Rajgamar police station. The chicken party was arranged to celebrate the arrival of the son-in-law. Authorities suspect food poisoning as the cause of the incident. There are also concerns that the alcohol consumed at the party may have been contaminated. The incident occurred at the house of 60-year-old Rajmeen Bai in Shivnagar Chauhan Para. Devsingh, the son-in-law, arrived with his wife Chamel from Bhaisama Dadarkala on Thursday. Rajmeen Bai, her son Rajkumar, and their neighbor Rajaraj organized the chicken party. The mother-in-law initially fell ill, followed by the son-in-law. Sadly, both died while receiving treatment; the remaining family members are in serious condition.
In a separate event, around three dozen people in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, became ill after eating chaat from a street vendor. They were admitted to a local health center due to complaints of vomiting and diarrhea.
