The Balod district administration in Chhattisgarh has initiated a strict policy: two-wheeler riders without helmets will not be able to purchase petrol or any other fuel. This decision comes in response to the increasing number of road accidents in the area. Collector Divya Umesh Mishra and Superintendent of Police Yogesh Patel convened a meeting with petrol pump operators and two-wheeler dealers to discuss the implementation of this policy and provide necessary guidelines. The officials emphasized the importance of road safety and the need to protect the lives of citizens. The meeting saw the participation of key officials from the district administration and the police, as well as representatives from petrol pumps and two-wheeler dealerships. The aim is to ensure compliance with the new rule, which is designed to encourage the use of helmets and thereby reduce fatalities and injuries caused by road accidents.
