In a chilling case from Adhaura, Balrampur-Ramanujganj, a woman is accused of murdering her husband by electrocution. The incident stems from the husband’s second marriage, which reportedly infuriated his first wife, Parvati Gupta. She is alleged to have tied up her husband, Manoj Gupta, before delivering the fatal electric shock.
The event unfolded in the village of Adhaura, under the Balrampur police station’s jurisdiction. The victim, Manoj Gupta (50), was found in a semi-nude state. The police have initiated a thorough investigation, sending the body for a post-mortem examination. It has been revealed that the deceased had two wives. His marriage to Parvati Gupta took place 27 years ago, and they had a son and two daughters. The second marriage of Manoj Gupta, with a 22-year-old woman, was a source of significant family friction. He had moved to a rented house with his second wife as a result.
After the second marriage, Manoj Gupta transferred all his assets to his first wife. However, he was allegedly subjected to harassment by his first wife and her family, with demands for a large sum of money. It’s alleged that Manoj Gupta was lured to his home, bound, and then electrocuted, with his daughter and son-in-law also present during the incident. Following the event, Parvati Gupta was admitted to the district hospital due to health issues.
Balrampur TI Bhupendra Sahu confirmed that Manoj Gupta’s body was found semi-nude with his hands and feet bound. The police are treating the case as a potential murder and are working to uncover the truth.
