The people of Chhattisgarh can look forward to respite from the scorching heat as the monsoon has reached the state’s border. The monsoon is expected to enter the state within the next 24 to 48 hours, according to weather reports. It will first make its mark in the Bastar region, and then gradually move across the state, including Raipur, Durg, Bilaspur, and Surguja. By June 15th, the entire state is expected to be under the influence of the monsoon, bringing with it regular rainfall. This will come as a welcome change to farmers, the public, and those enduring the heat. While May saw unusually high rainfall, the beginning of June brought a return of high temperatures. The arrival of the monsoon is expected to bring a complete change in weather conditions. The Bastar division will likely see the first rainfall, followed by Surguja, Raipur, Durg, and Bilaspur. The administration has advised citizens to stay alert for possible issues such as power outages, water accumulation, and thunderstorms.
