In a move to enhance electoral accuracy, Chhattisgarh’s draft electoral rolls have been released after a comprehensive Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The revision has led to the deletion of over 2.7 million names, a substantial adjustment to the state’s voter database. The Election Commission’s SIR initiative is focused on ensuring every eligible citizen is included and all ineligible entries are removed, with transparency at its core. The enumeration forms submitted by 18,495,920 electors were reviewed. The deletions comprise 642,234 deceased individuals, 1,913,540 who have moved or are absent, and 179,043 cases of double registration. Citizens can now check the updated draft rolls online.
