The Guru Ghasidas Central University and the Tribal Research & Knowledge Centre (TRKC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote research and investigation into the lives and cultures of the tribes of Chhattisgarh. The focus will be on the tribes of the Bastar and Surguja regions. The MOU signifies a critical step toward understanding the tribes’ history, traditions, and socio-economic structures. The research will cover various aspects, including the tribal social structure, economics, governance, rural entrepreneurship, sustainable development, and innovation. The collaboration aims to generate awareness and provide opportunities for the tribal communities to learn about their past. The research findings will be accessible to the wider public and serve as a basis for including tribal studies in academic curricula.
