The Chhattisgarh government is accepting applications for the State Sports Awards for the fiscal years 2023-24 and 2024-25, through its Sports and Youth Welfare Department. The deadline for submitting applications is June 26, 2025. The awards encompass the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey, Shaheed Kaushal Yadav, Shaheed Pankaj Vikram, Shaheed Vinod Choubey, and Veer Hanuman Singh honors, alongside the Chief Minister’s Trophy. The awards also provide cash rewards, sports scholarships (diet money), and the Prerna Nidhi. The primary goal is to recognize and encourage exceptional athletes, coaches, and referees at the state and national levels. The selection process will take into account eligibility, achievements, and recommendations from sports bodies. The Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award recipient will receive ₹3 lakh, while recipients of the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav and Veer Hanuman Singh awards will each receive ₹1.5 lakh. The Pankaj Vikram and Vinod Choubey Samman winners will each be awarded ₹25,000, and the Chief Minister’s Trophy winners will receive between ₹1 lakh and ₹5 lakh, depending on the team size. Eligible applicants include national/international medal winners, participants in state-level competitions, and athletes from the sub-junior, junior, and senior categories. Those applying for diet money must be under 19 years old. Applications can be downloaded from the department’s official website, http://sportsyw.cg.gov.in, or collected from district/state sports offices. Applicants for the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman must include a recommendation from a state sports association. Applications must be submitted by June 26, 2025, during office hours, to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium, G.E. Road, Raipur, or the District Sports Office, Raipur. All necessary certificates must be included with the application, and incomplete or unclear applications will not be accepted. The selection committee’s decision will be considered final and binding.
