The women and their supporters were formally inducted into the Congress party during an event. The induction took place in the presence of the Chhattisgarh Congress President, Deepak Baij. This defection is a blow to the Shiv Sena in Chhattisgarh, contrasting with efforts by the party’s leadership in Maharashtra, where leaders like Uddhav Thackeray are working to unify the party. In Chhattisgarh, however, the party continues to face challenges. Forty women from the Shiv Sena’s women’s wing joined the Congress at the PCC office, Rajiv Bhavan, under the leadership of PCC Chief Deepak Baij.
