Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai commemorated former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary, crediting him for the establishment of Chhattisgarh. Speaking at a ceremony in Raipur, Sai highlighted that the very identity of Chhattisgarh as a state is a legacy of Atal Ji. He remembered Vajpayee’s diverse roles as a journalist, poet, and politician, and the profound impact of his speeches. Sai pointed out the commencement of a 25-week celebration marking the silver jubilee of Chhattisgarh’s formation, recognizing this as a direct result of Vajpayee’s vision. He announced the designation of this year as ‘Atal Nirman Varsh,’ with a budget dedicated to accelerating infrastructure development. The Chief Minister affirmed that the state is making progress toward fulfilling the objectives for which Vajpayee had envisioned Chhattisgarh and introduced the Chhattisgarh Anjor Vision-2047 roadmap as a blueprint for future development. Sharing his own recollections, Sai mentioned his privilege of having heard Vajpayee speak in Parliament during his time as an MP. He recalled the anticipation for Vajpayee’s speeches, emphasizing his engaging speaking style and his ability to connect with the people. Sai also noted his presence during the parliamentary debates that led to Chhattisgarh’s creation. He emphasized Vajpayee’s dedication to principles and values in politics, viewing it as a means of communication, cooperation, and empathy. The Chief Minister concluded by stating that Vajpayee’s values continue to inspire progress and development.
