Naxals have committed a heinous act in Peddakorma, Chhattisgarh, resulting in the death of three villagers, including a student. Seven other villagers were severely injured in the attack. The incident is attributed to the Naxal leader Vella and his team, creating a climate of fear in the area.
The security forces recovered the bodies of Jhingu Modium, Soma Modium, and Anil Madvi. The bodies were transported to the district headquarters in Bijapur. After the post-mortem, the bodies were handed over to the families. A case will be registered against the Naxals based on the statements from the families.
The incident has triggered questions about the efficiency of intelligence gathering and operational strategies. The recent killing of top Naxal leaders has seemingly driven the insurgents to retaliate, causing them to target innocent civilians.
Furthermore, a significant anti-Naxal operation is currently underway on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The Greyhounds have registered significant achievements in Andhra Pradesh. Additionally, the DRG of Chhattisgarh has eliminated Naxal leaders in recent encounters. As per the reports, Gazrala Ravi, a member of the Andhra Pradesh zonal committee, and Aruna, the wife of the deceased Naxal leader Chalapathi, are reported dead, though official confirmation is still awaited.
