A gruesome incident occurred in Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, on Thursday, where a man murdered his girlfriend at a petrol pump. The suspect has been arrested by the police. The tragic event happened in the Gandhinagar police station area. The authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem examination.
Jogendra Paikra, 28, arrived at the petrol pump on a motorcycle, armed with a knife and an air pistol. He saw his ex-girlfriend, Bharti Toppo, 27, who worked at the petrol pump, and immediately began chasing her. Despite her attempts to flee, he caught up to her and stabbed her.
Following the attack, bystanders and petrol pump staff intervened and apprehended Jogendra. Bharti was taken to the hospital but died from her injuries. Preliminary investigations revealed that Bharti and Jogendra were in a relationship, but she had recently decided to end it, which led to this violent act.
