The Chhattisgarh government has announced a significant initiative to promote the higher education of girls. Through the Azim Premji Scholarship scheme, girls who have successfully completed their 10th or 12th grade from government schools will receive an annual scholarship of ₹30,000. The Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, launched the program at the Chief Minister’s residence office in Raipur.
The Chief Minister emphasized that educating girls is crucial for the advancement of society. He reiterated the state government’s strong commitment to girls’ higher education. The scholarship aims to assist girls from economically weaker sections in completing their college or diploma studies.
The scheme is being launched in collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, as per an MoU. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Foundation, stating that this initiative will empower numerous girls. He highlighted Chhattisgarh’s progress in recent years, noting the vital role of girls. He also emphasized the need to ensure no girl is forced to abandon her education due to financial constraints.
