The Loktantra Senani Sangh and Loktantra Prahari of Chhattisgarh held a meeting at the residence of State President Diwakar Tiwari, chaired by National Vice President Sachchidanand. The primary outcome was the planning of events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Emergency. A significant initiative is an essay competition, organized by Loktantra Prahari, for college and school students across the state.
The essay topics are designed to reflect on the historical significance of the Emergency. College students will address “June 25th: Why is it relevant as the Constitution Assassination Day?” and school students will explore “The Emergency Should Not Be Forgotten.” Prizes for the essay competition include substantial cash rewards for the top three winners in each category, along with encouragement awards. Students must submit their essays by June 30, 2025, and include a consent letter from their respective principals.
During the meeting, it was also confirmed that the annual honoring of democracy fighters and satyagrahis will take place on June 26th at the Chief Minister’s residence, continuing a tradition of recognizing their sacrifices. The event will be attended by officials from both the Loktantra Senani Sangh and Loktantra Prahari, along with prominent political figures. Discussions will be held on “50 Years of Emergency” and “Constitution Assassination Day.” A booklet titled “The Black History of the Emergency” will be launched to educate the public on the events. Diwakar Tiwari and Vishal Rajhans announced a comprehensive reorganization and membership drive across the state and district levels. The meeting included participation from a variety of leaders and concluded with Diwakar Tiwari delivering the vote of thanks.
