The Chhattisgarh government, under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has announced a series of policy changes following a recent cabinet meeting. The cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh District Mineral Foundation Trust Rules, 2015, adhering to the guidelines set by the Union Ministry of Mines and PMKKKY-2024. These amendments will ensure that at least 70% of the trust funds are utilized in high-priority sectors such as drinking water, environmental protection, health, education, agriculture, and social welfare. In addition, the cabinet greenlit the establishment of a state-of-the-art archery training center in Jashpur district, intending to bolster sports in rural areas. New rules were also introduced to govern the extraction and transport of sand, aiming to bring transparency and curb illegal mining. The government also addressed agricultural land valuation methods and sanctioned the allocation of land for a cricket academy in Nava Raipur, aiming to promote sports and offer world-class training facilities.
