A separate sample of 240 smart‑metered consumers in Durg, each drawing more than 400 units per month, recorded 76,257 units in July 2026. This compares with 1,65,411 units in June and 1,75,451 units in May – a July decline of about 53 percent. In Bilaspur’s city circle, 9,717 high‑usage meters showed an average of 524 units in May, 596 in June and only 312 in July, a fall of roughly 43 percent. The findings suggest that the intelligent metering system, combined with altered consumer behaviour, is delivering tangible savings.
