Chhattisgarh’s Chief Minister, Vishnu Deo Sai, revealed the new industrial policy with a specific focus on the Bastar region during the Thakur Joharni program held in Narharpur, Kanker district. The event was attended by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda. Sai took part in the religious ceremonies, wishing prosperity for the people of Chhattisgarh. The new policy aims to boost employment and self-employment opportunities in Bastar and Surguja, ensuring maximum benefit to the local population. Sai expressed greetings for Thakur Joharni and Navakhai, acknowledging the cultural heritage and unity of the tribal communities. He highlighted the state’s initiatives in education, including the implementation of a new education policy. The state supports quality and employment-oriented education through institutions such as IIT, IIM, and Triple IIT, and the work of institutions like Prayas and Eklavya. He also mentioned the Tribal Youth Hostel in Delhi and the establishment of Nalanda campuses. Sai noted the success in the fight against Maoism and reiterated the goal of eradicating it by March 31, 2026. The government is working with the National Dairy Development Board to promote animal husbandry and poultry farming to generate employment. He spoke about enhancing the compensation for tendu leaf collectors, the Charanpaduka distribution, and the Ramlala Darshan scheme. He also touched upon the establishment of Atal Digital Seva Kendras to improve transparency in Gram Panchayats. The PM Janman Yojana and Dharti Aba Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan were highlighted as critical for tribal development. Arjun Munda emphasized the distinct cultural identity of the tribal communities, emphasizing their connection to their environment and culture. He also stressed the significance of their rights. The event featured speeches from key figures and included announcements by Chief Minister Sai regarding developmental projects for Narharpur, including support for a local English medium school. The event saw significant participation from local residents and officials.
