Raipur, Chhattisgarh – The Chhattisgarh State Child Welfare Council hosted its annual general meeting at the ‘Vimatara’ auditorium in Raipur. Brijmohan Agrawal, the council president, appealed to the community to unite in assisting children with disabilities and to promote the council’s initiatives.
During his address, Agrawal stated that the council’s work necessitates collective responsibility, extending beyond the council itself. He called upon all segments of society to actively contribute to the welfare of children with disabilities. He urged council members serving in state government bodies to engage with the council’s programs and activities. Furthermore, he advocated for increasing public awareness of the council’s work by organizing visits to the speech therapy center and other institutions.
The meeting commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony and a garland offering to Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ashok Tripathi, Vice President, and Chandresh Shah, General Secretary, welcomed Brijmohan Agrawal.
Distinguished officials and members from various districts, including Nathmal Kothari, Vishwanath Panigrahi, Arun Chhabra, Manoj Sharma, Divyansh Shekhar Chandel, Genddas Vaishnav, Manoj Kumar Singh, and Kul Prakash along with Dhal Singh Sahu, were also acknowledged.
The council unveiled its new logo, and General Secretary Chandresh Shah presented the annual report. The audit report and budget proposal were presented by Mrs. Indira Jain. Videos showcased the achievements of the council’s affiliated institutions.
Recognition was given to former council members and officials who have been assigned roles within Chhattisgarh government commissions and corporations. Those honored included Lokesh Kavadiya, Somanath Yadav, Dr. Salim Raj, Prafful Vishwakarma, and Amarjit Singh Chhabra.
Additionally, Ranjita Koreti, a young girl from Balgrah Kondagaon, was recognized for her gold medal win in the Khelo India Judo competition.
A cultural program was presented by the children of the Balgrah. Parents shared experiences highlighting the positive outcomes of speech therapy and expressed their appreciation to the council. The meeting concluded with tributes to the late J. P. Sabu and the late Shekhar Chandel. The program was led by Joint Secretary Rajendra Kumar Nigam, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Sunita Chansoria.
