Chhattisgarh has modified the Half Electricity Bill scheme, with changes focusing on how discounts are applied. The revised scheme provides a 50% reduction on electricity bills for consumption up to 100 units each month, a shift from the previous discount structure which offered rebates on up to 400 units. The government has clarified that around 31 lakh families, representing nearly 70% of the 45 lakh domestic consumers in the state, have a monthly consumption that doesn’t exceed 100 units.
