Raipur MP and senior BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal chaired a Telecom Advisory Committee meeting on Saturday. The meeting’s primary focus was on BSNL’s service offerings, including future plans and network development. Agrawal directed BSNL officials to ensure that consumers receive excellent services. He stressed the importance of reinforcing the network in rural and remote areas, in addition to urban centers.
Agrawal suggested that BSNL services be given priority in government institutions and offices. He also supported the accelerated deployment of 5G services. Moreover, he advised BSNL to enhance its marketing efforts to promote its products and services, encouraging wider adoption.
T. K. Markam, BSNL’s Principal General Manager (Commercial Area Raipur), shared details regarding BSNL’s 4G services, network expansion projects, and recent initiatives. He noted that BSNL has initiated 4G services in Naxal-affected villages where other telecom providers have not established a presence. Additionally, over 700 schools have been provided with fiber connectivity under the Samagra Shiksha Yojana.
Markam also mentioned the government’s Extended BharatNet initiative, which will establish 1.5 crore Bharat Fiber connections nationwide. He acknowledged the support received from MP Agrawal. The meeting was attended by other members of the Telecom Advisory Committee and senior BSNL officials.
