A Telecom Advisory Committee meeting was held in Raipur on Saturday, chaired by Raipur Lok Sabha MP and BJP leader Brijmohan Agrawal. The meeting focused on BSNL’s services, future plans, and network development. Agrawal directed BSNL officials to prioritize quality service, stressing the importance of strengthening networks in rural and remote areas. He also advocated for prioritizing BSNL services within government offices and accelerating the expansion of 5G services.
Agrawal recommended BSNL increase promotional activities for its products and services through effective marketing strategies. T. K. Markam, Principal General Manager (Commercial Area Raipur) of BSNL, provided details on 4G services, network expansion and new initiatives. He highlighted the launch of 4G services in Naxal-affected villages, where other providers are unavailable. Over 700 schools have been connected through fiber under the Samagra Shiksha Yojana.
Markam also discussed the government’s Extended BharatNet project to establish 15 million Bharat Fiber connections. He acknowledged MP Agrawal’s support. Other committee members and senior BSNL officials attended.
