In an effort to make Balod district malnutrition-free, Collector Divya Mishra has spearheaded an initiative, starting with her own adoption of two malnourished girls. She has taken on the responsibility to improve the health and well-being of Kumari Himanshi and Kumari Tejaswi. The Collector personally met with the children and their families, offering them treats and gaining insight into their care. The Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat also took similar action. Furthermore, the campaign has seen the support of local politicians, including a Member of Parliament and several MLAs. Under the guidance of Collector Mishra, a ‘Mission Adoption’ block-level committee has been formed to coordinate efforts. The committee will involve district-level officials and public representatives who will adopt malnourished children aged six months to three years, ensuring they receive the necessary care to become well-nourished. The Sub-Divisional Officer will serve as the chairman of the committee.
