A disturbing incident involving an attempted robbery on a train has come to light, with Chhattisgarh film actress Jyotsna Tamrakar as the victim. The incident happened on the Rewa-Bilaspur Express (Train No. 18248), and the actress shared her account through a video.
Tamrakar described her journey on June 19th. The train stopped just outside Katni railway station at around 2 AM. After leaving Katni, the train halted at an outer signal. During this stop, an attempt was made to steal her belongings from the window. When this failed, she was punched in the face. Later, it was found that passengers in coaches S1 to S5 had also been robbed. This caused fear among the passengers. After arriving at Bilaspur station, the actress sought help from the RPF and GRP, but did not receive any immediate assistance.
Following the incident, Tamrakar contacted the railway helpline 139. Despite reporting the incident, no immediate help was forthcoming. She waited for an hour at Bilaspur station, criticizing the lack of RPF and GRP presence. The absence of security personnel allowed the perpetrators to escape.
The actress mentioned that thefts occurred in other compartments, hinting at a larger group being involved. She reported the incident to the railway helpline, but complained that no immediate police action was taken. She has called for the government and railway administration to address the issue and take severe action. This incident underscores the urgent need for enhanced railway security.
GRP station in-charge L.P. Kashyap stated that they have received information through social media and will investigate. Bilaspur GRP in-charge D.N. Srivastava informed that he spoke with the actress, who was in Raipur and planning to file an FIR.
