The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken up the investigation into the case of Abhinand Yesudasan, who went missing from a ship eight years ago. Abhinand worked as a pipe fitter on the ship. The investigation was initiated following an order from the Kerala High Court, which was hearing a petition from the mariner’s father, Yesudasan. The 21-year-old, a resident of Kollam, Kerala, was employed at Aries Marines LLC in Sharjah, UAE. He disappeared on March 21, 2017, during a journey from Egypt to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
His father’s complaint to the police stated that Abhinand had contacted the family several times from Egypt and Turkey, and he seemed happy. The father alleged that on March 17, 2017, Abhinand told his family that his colleagues were harassing him because he lacked work experience.
