The Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has given the go-ahead for the Shahberi Flyover project, offering a solution to traffic congestion for those commuting between Ghaziabad and Greater Noida. The GDA has authorized the construction of a 200-meter-long ramp as part of the flyover, which will be built on Ghaziabad land. This project is set to greatly reduce traffic problems in Greater Noida West. The project was previously held up by clearance issues. Now approved, the Greater Noida administration has started construction following approval from the Ghaziabad administration. A Detailed Project Report (DPR) and an Expression of Interest (EOI) are expected soon. Before construction begins, a proposal will be presented to the government for budget approval, funding allocation, and the selection of a construction company. The project’s feasibility was assessed by IIT Roorkee, with the study covering traffic analysis, length, soil testing, and potential construction challenges. The flyover is planned to be wider than 7.5 meters. The new flyover, located at the intersection of Greater Noida, Noida, and Ghaziabad, is intended to address the increasing traffic issues in Greater Noida West. As part of the project, a drainage channel in Crossing Republic, Ghaziabad, will be covered to ensure smooth traffic flow after the flyover.
