The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to host a two-day workshop for its Members of Parliament (MPs) at the Parliament complex, commencing today. The workshop will start at 11:00 AM and will feature the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda. A key component of the workshop will be the honoring of PM Modi for the advancements in GST 2.0.
The workshop agenda is structured around four key sessions designed for the MPs. The first session will cover topics like Self-reliant India, Indigenous India, Ease of Doing Business, and Youth Empowerment and Employment. The second session will focus on strategies for MPs to effectively utilize social media platforms. The third session will be dedicated to discussions within parliamentary committee groups, allowing MPs to engage with various parliamentary committees from different ministries.
A significant part of the workshop will focus on the role and responsibilities of MPs, including the importance of parliamentary committee proceedings, preparing for parliamentary sessions, the use of parliamentary rules, studying ministry reports, understanding subordinate legislation, and guidelines on appropriate behavior and precautions for MPs. The final session will address regional concerns, including maritime zones, areas impacted by Left-wing ideologies, rural and urban areas, and the hilly and northeastern regions.
In addition, the workshop will provide training on the upcoming Vice Presidential election. Topics such as the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, the TB Free India campaign, MP Sports initiatives, Tiffin meetings, and innovative methods for engaging with parliamentary constituencies will be discussed. On Monday, MPs will receive comprehensive training on the Vice Presidential election, including the voting process, the procedures involved, and essential precautions.
The Vice Presidential election will feature a direct contest between CP Radhakrishnan, the candidate nominated by the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), and B. Sudarshan Reddy, a retired Supreme Court judge, representing the opposition. However, Radhakrishnan is expected to have a numerical advantage. The BJP believes that the changes in GST will ease the tax burden on the public and boost the economy. The BJP and its allies hope that the public’s positive sentiment regarding the decrease in the prices of various commodities will contribute to their success in the Bihar assembly elections, expected to be held in November. The BJP’s workshop includes several sessions that delve into the party’s history, progress, and strategies to enhance the effectiveness of the MPs.
