A major accident was averted when a truck collided with the convoy of Tejashwi Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, in Vaishali on Saturday morning. The incident occurred near Goraul when Yadav was returning to Patna following a political event in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped for a short break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway at 12:30 AM. While Yadav was having tea a few meters away, a truck crashed into the stationary vehicles of his security detail. Yadav was unharmed. However, the impact resulted in injuries to three security personnel, who were promptly taken to a nearby hospital. Yadav visited the injured officials and inquired about their health. The injured officials are now stable. The truck driver was arrested at the scene, and the truck has been impounded. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident. The incident has raised fresh concerns regarding the safety of political leaders traveling on Bihar’s roads, especially during nighttime travel. RJD members have expressed relief and called for greater road safety measures and stricter enforcement of traffic rules. Party leaders have called for a thorough investigation into VIP security protocols on the road, particularly in conditions with poor visibility and road manners. Tejashwi Yadav has resumed his normal activities and has assured his supporters of his safety.
