Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and a prominent RJD leader, was involved in a near-accident on Saturday morning in Vaishali. Two vehicles in his convoy were hit by a speeding truck near Goraul while en route back to Patna from a political event in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped for a short rest along the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. While Tejashwi Yadav was a few meters away, a runaway truck crashed into the parked vehicles carrying his security detail. Fortunately, his personal vehicle was not damaged, and he was unharmed. Three security personnel were injured in the crash and immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Tejashwi Yadav later visited the injured, expressing his concern. The injured officials are now in stable condition, although they suffered injuries including bruises and minor fractures. The truck driver was arrested by the local police, and the truck was taken into custody. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, which may involve speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has drawn attention to the safety of political figures traveling long distances on Bihar roads, especially during the night. RJD members took to social media, expressing relief and advocating for enhanced road safety and stronger enforcement of traffic laws. Party leaders are demanding a thorough review of VIP security procedures on the road, particularly in low-visibility conditions. Tejashwi Yadav, who has a demanding political schedule and often travels across Bihar, has resumed his normal activities and assured his supporters of his safety.
