The Uttar Pradesh government is set to begin a special bus service from Varanasi to Gaya Ji in Bihar, providing a convenient travel option for those seeking to perform ancestral rituals during Pitru Paksha. This initiative aims to support devotees making the pilgrimage to Gaya Ji.
Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh detailed the bus route, which will include stops at Chandauli, Sasaram, Aurangabad, and Sherghati. The bus will operate daily, departing from Varanasi (Cantt).
With a departure time from Varanasi station at 8 PM, the bus is scheduled to arrive in Gaya Ji by 4 AM. The fare for the journey will be 465 rupees. The new service is designed to provide a more economical and time-saving alternative to private transport, catering to the large number of pilgrims who visit Gaya Ji during Pitru Paksha. The Transport Corporation has considered the needs of the devotees and has deliberated on the implementation of the route.
The government is trying to enhance tourism and provide the best facilities to the people and the devotees.
In addition, the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation operates a direct interstate bus service between Lucknow and Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The fare is 862 rupees. This bus departs from the Alambagh bus terminal in Lucknow at 2 AM and reaches Muzaffarpur at 4 AM the next day.
