In a strategic move ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, the RJD has gained a prominent figure in the form of former minister Renu Kushwaha. She joined the party alongside her husband Vijay Kushwaha at a function in Patna on June 25th, in the presence of Tejashwi Yadav. This move is seen as a calculated effort by the RJD to strengthen its position. Several other leaders, including Raghvendra Singh Kushwaha, have also joined the RJD. Renu Kushwaha’s prior experience with the JDU and LJP adds significant political capital to the party. This development is viewed as an advantage for the RJD, while it presents a challenge for the NDA.
Tejashwi Yadav took to social media to announce the new additions to the party and also criticized the ruling government. He highlighted the public’s dissatisfaction with the 20-year-long NDA government. Renu Kushwaha has had a notable political career, serving as a three-time MLA and a former MP. She is from Khagaria, Bihar, and is a well-known figure from the backward classes. Her work in social areas and for women’s empowerment further solidifies her influence.
