On Vijayadashami, Tej Pratap Yadav, the national president of Jan Shakti Janata Dal and the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, made a significant comment. He commented on Tejashwi Yadav, his younger brother, and urged him to understand the concept of who is Ram and who is Lakshman. He said that the younger brother should observe decorum. These remarks were made during a press conference held in Patna.
During the interaction with the press, Tej Pratap Yadav openly discussed various topics. He said that Tejashwi is making his own decisions. He also suggested that Tejashwi might be influenced by certain people. He stressed the importance of considering the roles of Ram and Lakshman and respecting the elder brother.
This came in response to a query concerning Tejashwi’s allegation that Tej Pratap had previously fielded candidates against the party in the past, particularly in the Lok Sabha elections. Tej Pratap offered his explanation.
He also criticized the RSS, asserting that it played no role in India’s independence. He mentioned the events surrounding Mahatma Gandhi and reiterated his adherence to Gandhian principles, along with respect for leaders like Lal Bahadur Shastri and Mahatma Gandhi. When asked about contesting elections, he said he would reveal his plans after Dussehra. Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s foreign travels, Tej Pratap said that he believes Rahul might be traveling for his benefit.
Furthermore, Tej Pratap Yadav also spoke on the ‘I Love Mohammad’ controversy, emphasizing the importance of respecting all religions. He stated that he respects all faiths and owns a copy of the Quran. He believes in both Ram and Muhammad, promoting inclusivity. He expressed his respect for Prophet Muhammad, questioning the direction of society and leadership. He highlighted the arrest of people expressing ‘I Love Mohammad’ and analyzed the prevalent mindset. He concluded by stating that he would continue to move forward and connect with the public, regardless of criticism.
